Sitting outside the Medicine Wolf den, I begin to revise my herbs:
'Cobwebs for injuries, Juniper for coughs and bellyaches, Yarrow to make the wolf sick, Catmint for bellyaches.. wait, no that's Chervil root, Catmint for Whitecough, Greencough or Blackcough...'

She gets up and looks at the sun rising. She yawns then pads out of the den. She sees Riversong and decides to pay a trick on her. She creeps up behind her and yells, "ShadowClan attck!" at the top of her voice.

I jump and look around. Racing to the entrance to the camp, I shout "ShadowClan attack!"

Aprilpup stumbles out of the den as soon as the queen's had turned their backs. "Whoa!" She glances around in awe and wonder, squinting at the bright sunlight, and watching the warriors doing their own individual things at the rest of the camp.

Lionpup scrambled out of the nursery, prancing towards the medicine den with his tail waving. "Hello Riversong!" He mewed, circling her as she sorted through the several healing herbs. "Whats this?" He inquired, spearing a juniper berry onto one claw and giving it a tentive sniff.

Sunray gets up and says, "There is no ShadowClan attack Riversong! It was a joke to frighten ya!" She then notices Lionpup and says, "Hello Kiddo."

I glare at Sunray and swipe my paw over her head. Turning to Lionpup, I say "Thats' a Juniper berry Lionpup, I use it to treat wolves with coughs and bellyaches."

He twitched his ears at the answer, placing the juniper berry back onto the ground and circling a stem of green, sweet smelling, mouth watering something. "Mmm," He murmured, bending his head to sniff at the green stalk. "What is This?" He asked, straigening up and turning to stare at Riversong.

I smile at the young pup's interest in herbs and say "Thats' Chervil. The leaves are used to heal or prevent infection, and the roots are used to cure bellyache."

He let out a low purr; his interest in herbs was too overwhelming to keep him from the Medicine den. He sniffed confidently at a dry yellow flower and mewed boldly, "So this must be marigold! Its used to treat infection...." Then he trailed off and added timidly, "It is isnt it?"

Looking at the small pup, I feel surprise and warmth spreading through my pelt. Now here's a wolf that knows' their herbs, I think to myself. Smiling down at Lionpup, I say "Yes, you're right. Marigold is used to stop infection." Then I decide to add: "Can you tell me what part of the plant you would use?", wondering how much the young pup would know.
