Once Bluestar reached the RiverClan border, she stopped and spoke to her apprentice. "This is the RiverClan border. Smell their scent and remember it well. We must not pass this borderline and they must not pass ours. They mostly stay inside the river since they get all their food for it, but if they come over make sure to tell a Warrior."
Bluestar marked the border and moved on. "Now let's go to the ShadowClan border."

Swiftpaw bent her head forward and took several sniffs. The scents that came to her were, river water, fish and other wolves. It would be hard for her to forget a wet wolf smell mixed with fish. She stuck out her tongue in disgust. "Hm, I bet I could take any Riverclan Warrior, I'm sure their smell distracts even themselves, they stink so bad" Swiftpaw watched carfully how Bluestar scent marked, because one day she would be doing the same thing. Shadowclan next? She wondered if Shadowclan would smell any better.

"You better not let them hear that!" Bluestar said, scuffing her apprentice affectionally on the head. "They probably think we stink that bad! And I'm warning you; the ShadowClan wolves don't smell any better, perhaps worse!"
They continued on to the RiverClan border. A large road separated the two Clans. "This is as close as we're getting." The female wolf told her apprentice. "Those ShadowClan wolves are very protective of their borders. Plus those monsters could fly off the road and hit one of us!"
Suddenly a monster sped past, throwing dark puddles of stinking water into the air and over the wolves that were hiding not far away. Bluestar shook her fur as the ShadowClan scent wafted over.

Swiftpaw snorted in amusement. "Don't see how, undergrowth is the greatest smell you can have" She twitched her ear after Bluestar's flick. "Shadowclan smells worse? I'm glad I'm Thunderclan then" 'But I wander what Windclan smells like' She thought once again.
Swiftpaw stopped as soon as she saw a huge black path running right through the forest, the smell was ten times worse then any Riverclan warrior could be. But the other smell of marsh, wolves and slimy prey was slightly hinted with it. Swiftpaw jumped back, her fur bristing as a huge shiny monster zoomed by, and was spaddered with disgusting smelling water. She wriggled her nose to the smell. "W-we live close to these things? What if they come to our camp and eat everyone!?" Swiftpaw yelped in fear.

"Most of the time they don't leave the road. But it's very, very dangerous to cross the road. If you do you have to be very careful or you could be hit or killed."

Swiftpaw nodded, but she wasn't going to relax till they got away from the Monsters and Thunderpath.

(Gah, whatever xP)
"Well, remember their scent well as well. I would bring you to the WindClan border as well, however we must pass through the Four Trees. Since it is not moonhigh we could be attacked since there is no time of peace." Bluestar said to her apprentice. "Therefore, let's go more inside the forest and get away from the Thunderpath. I could teach you how to hunt now if you're not too tired."

(XD)
It's going to be hard to forget these scents" Swiftpaw said to her mentor, wriggling her nose again at the faul stench. "Can we please go to Windclan's border? I want to get down all of the clans scents" Swiftpaw begged, but she also wanted to learn to hunt aswell. So much to do in little time.

"No, little apprentice. If we get caught a fight could happen which is not something we would want. As your Leader i tell you this. Now, let's go by the Great Oak Tree and I'll show you some good places to hunt."

Swiftpaw's ears dropped a bit, she wanted to see the territory Windclan lived in and wanted t oget there scents. Would they really attack Thunderclan's leader who was just showing her apprentice around 'our' territory? But Bluestar saying it as a leader and not a mentor, whitch was sort of like an order, so Swiftpaw had better listen. But her ears perked right back up at the thought of hunting. She nodded to Bluestar, and waited for her to lead her to the Great Oak Tree.

The two wolves, mentor and apprentice, walked back through the territory until they had reached the Great Oak. "This tree has been here for many, many moons. Longer than any of us can count. It is named the Great Oak for its immense size. It is also home to an owl. Have you seen or heard of owls before?"

Swiftpaw bounded along side Bluestar till they came to a huge tree, the Great Oak she guessed. Swiftpaw listened to Bluestar speak about the Great Oak, then it was her turn to reply. "Of course I have, I heard a story from the elders that a apprentice used to sit by this tree all day and stare up at where the owl lived. Then when the owl left the apprentice followed his best. Though that's what he was named after, Owlpaw, but eventually became Owlstar" Swiftpaw found her self telling Bluestar a story she probably already knew, so she answer the question directly. "Uh yes, a big bird with a flat face" She said with a hint of embarrassment.

"Well, it's good you listen to Elder stories. At least some apprentices still do. But yes, that is what an owl is. It is netorious for snatching up pups and they're never seen again. They are fast and silent fliers with sharp claws. They can spin their head over 100 degrees to see what's behind them. A predator to fear if you're small. Normally they only come out at night and they wouldn't go after big wolves like us. I'm sure the owl is sleeping at the moment."
"Anywho, let's start working on your hunting skills. Ah, there's a rabbit now." She said, spotting one not far away. "Okay. You must make sure you're downwind. A rabbit will smell you before it hears you. Once you get close enough you pounce. If the rabbit knows you're there it will start running. Feel free to go after it, but if you know it's a lost cause don't. You're just wasting energy."
Bluestar crouched and slowly stalked towards the rabbit, her paws not making a sound. She pinpointed its position as it sat there chewing some grass. She waited a couple moments and then jumped on the rabbit, killing it quickly with a bite to the neck.
"Also make sure not to hesitate too long. I did a second or so, however the rabbit was too busy eating to notice."

Swiftpaw listened to Bluestar discribe the Owl, but she already knew about that stuff.
Swiftpaw turned her head to where Bluetar pointed and whispered 'rabbit' Her first glimpse of life prey. Excitment bubbled inside her as she watched it. She then silently watched Bluestar crep up on it. She watched her paws, as she slowly moved them over the ground, silently, and then pounce. "Wow Bluetar! Great catch! She shouted as she jumped infront of Bluestar. She took Bluestars advice and wanted to try hunting her first prey. She sniffed the air trying to catch scent of any prey.

"Thanks. It just takes practice. You'll be doing great with it before long. Now don't go too far to find your prey!" She called to her apprentice that bounded off.
The female wolf looked towards the sky and noticed the sun was beginning to set. It was almost time to go back to camp for some good-earned rest. She decided to follow her apprentice. Walking quietly, she watched as Swiftpaw tried to make her first kill.

Swiftpaw tredded lightly as she walked through the forest. Her ears were perks and she always had her nose on high alert for any prey. After walking for a while, she finally came upon a scent. It smelled rather odd, but she followed it anyway. Sllowly rounding a bush she came face to face with a medium sized grey creature that had a striped tail and black markings over it's face. It sprang on it's back legs and starting hissing, its claws ourshed. Never seeing anything like it before, Swiftpaw advanced, not knowing if it was prey or not It spat a warning. Figuring it wouldn't be a good idea to get into a fight with this animal and get injured, Swiftpaw turned and scented for prey again. Ignoring that weird creature. Then the scent of mouse hit her nose. She stopped ead in her tracks, and listened intently. She heard small scuffling in a near by thicket of grass. She slowly crept up on it, her paws silenlty touching the ground. She let her ear relax and tell her whitch way the wind was blowing, it wasn't blowing towards or behind, it was blowing from the side. Swiftpaw caught a glimspe of the mouse, 'it must be busy moraging' she thought. When she was close enough she pouned, the mouse bolted and Swiftpaw took after it, only missing it by a mouse- length, since it jumped out of the way in time. It was heading toward a tangle of tree roots. Not wanting to lose her first prey for her first time hunting, Swiftpaw used her swiftness to jump lightly sevral times and land infront of the mouse. Before it could turn and run, she lunged forward and placed her paw on it, bending down to bite it, and quickly end it's life.

Bluestar watched quietly as her young apprentice made her kill with quick accuracy. She was impressed with her thinking in going after it and standing it front of it before it could get away. Deciding to reveal herself, the leader stepped out of the bushes. "Well done, young one." She praised. "Now take your prey and let's get back to camp before it's dark. You have a big day ahead of you and you should get something to eat before resting."
With a flick of her ears, Bluestar trotted back towards camp.

Swiftpaw picked up her prey and look up at Bluestar proudly. Dropping her prey she replied, "Thanks Bluestar, I have gotten a lot of practice stalking the other pups when I was in the nursery" Swiftpaw picked up her prey again, then took off after Bluestar, staying just a few steps behind her.
